NEWS RELEASE:

ANSI/NCLSI Z540.3-2006 sub-clause 5.3 Program Launch

Fort Wayne, IN May 11, 2009 - Laboratory Accreditation Bureau (L-A-B) is marking their 10 year anniversary with expanding its resources available for laboratories seeking ANSI/NCSLI Z540.3-2006 subclause 5.3 accreditation.  ANSI/NCSLI Z540.3-2006 sub-clause 5.3 deals with the probability of false acceptance of a measurement (PFA).    ANSI/NCSLI Z540.3-2006 expands on ISO/IEC 17025:2005 with 19 new requirements within subclause 5.3.

Laboratory Accreditation Bureau (L-A-B) has been working closely with the specifiers and regulators through committees within NACLA (National Cooperation for Laboratory Accreditation) and NCSLI (National Conference of Standards Laboratories International).  In preparation of the new program, L-A-B has participated in a training session held by the NCSLI 171 Committee on the requirements of sub-clause 5.3 on April 30, 2009 in Washington D.C.  L-A-B anticipates that the program will be ready for assessment in July of 2009.

L-A-B is presently accepting applications from laboratories to be accredited for ANSI Z540.3 – 2006 sub clause 5.3 requirements.  Those interested visit www.l-a-b.com and click the “Request a Quote” button in the upper right hand corner.

“Working closely with the specifiers and the regulators to develop the program has been a true benefit to L-A-B and those laboratories that wish to be accredited to the subclause 5.3 of ANSI/NCSLI Z540.3-2006” stated Ryan Fischer, L-A-B Calibration Program Manager.

Accredited laboratories interested in the program requirements of ANSI/NCSLI Z540.3-2006 sub-clause 5.3 should contact L-A-B or apply online through the “Request a Quote” feature at www.L-A-B.com .
