The National Cooperation for Laboratory Accreditation (NACLA) has expanded L-A-B’s current Scope of Recognition to include Construction Materials Testing Laboratories.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The National Cooperation for Laboratory Accreditation (NACLA) has expanded L-A-B’s current Scope of Recognition to include Construction Materials Testing Laboratories. As a result of NACLA’s recognition, L-A-B is recognized to accredit laboratories to Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) requirements as specified in FHWA Quality Assurance Laboratory … Qualification Program (23 CFR 637.209)
The NACLA "Recognition Procedure" and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Interagency Report 7012 (NISTIR 7012), "Technical Requirements for Construction Materials Testing", is the criteria required for the approval of comparable laboratory accreditation programs as indicated in a Notice in the Federal Register on September 22, 2004. “The use of independent third party accreditation is growing in the United States due in large part to the efforts of NACLA stakeholders: labs, specifiers/regulators, and accreditation bodies. The NACLA recognition process has proven to be a great asset to L-A-B … through the stakeholder cooperation we continue to work together developing recognition and accreditation requirements that meet the needs of regulators and specifiers in the United States, while maintaining a focus on the use of international standards. As a result, NACLA can recognize AB’s while reducing the redundancy of multiple regulator/specifier approvals in the US”, explains Doug Leonard, President, L-A-B, “giving a special appreciation to our fellow NACLA members and Construction Materials Engineering Council (CMEC) for our mutually beneficial Memorandum of Understanding” <Link to L-A-B Construction Materials Testing Laboratory Accreditation Program> CONTACT: Pat Douglass, Laboratory Accreditation Bureau, +1-260-637-2705, pdouglass@l-a-b.com
L-A-B is an independent third party Accreditation Body whose mission is to Improve Testing and Calibration Laboratories worldwide. L-A-B is recognized by both NACLA (National Cooperation for Laboratory Accreditation, www.nacla.net ) and ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation, www.ilac.org ) in the fields of calibration and testing. L-A-B’s website www.l-a-b.com is one of the web’s most comprehensive resources for laboratories seeking Laboratory Accreditation.
