About Us

Since 1980, Kent Machine has been designing and building the special machines, gages, fixtures, and tooling that you need to stay competitive.  Kent Machine surpasses the competition by offering these services while meeting, and often exceeding the strictest delivery deadlines for their customers.  Past projects include assembly and test machines for various sectors in the automotive industry to precision gages for the orthopedic industry.  We have set ourselves apart by always standing by the products that we manufacture.

We have paired experienced engineers with the latest design technology and made Kent Machine the preeminent choice for the mechanical design of your project.  All mechanical design done at Kent Machine is completed in 3D; allowing us to eliminate many of the errors associated with 2D design.  Each design completed at Kent Machine must go through a rigorous review process; both by Kent Machine personnel and the customer.  The finished design package can be supplied to the customer in their preferred format.  Kent Machine follows the ASME Y14.5M-1994 design standard unless the customer provides a different standard to follow.

Customers depend on Kent Machine’s high quality standards (holding extreme tolerances of +/- .00020), and excellent service reputation.  Kent Machine’s accredited lab offers a unique service not often found in industry.  We can take your existing special gages and perform an “as found” calibration.  If the gage fails calibration we can make the necessary adjustments to bring the gage back into specification.  After this we can perform an “as left” calibration and provide an accredited calibration as long as it is part of our accredited scope.

Services

Kent Machine’s accredited scope is tailored to meet the needs of manufacturers in the orthopedic and automotive industries.  We pride ourselves on transparency concerning our inspection activities.  We will be glad to provide you with any documentation you require, showing our calibration schedules, methods, processes or our Quality Manual.  Kent Machine’s reports, whether dimensional inspection or calibration are clear, concise and easy to understand.  Any questions that you have concerning your inspection or calibration will be answered directly by the Quality Manager or the Laboratory Manager. 

The Dimensional Inspection side of our scope offers a full set of tools for performing first article and prototype inspections.  We can help you glean the data you need to prove the capability of your manufacturing processes.  We have inspected a wide variety of parts in the past from refrigerator shelves to orthopedic implants.  The Kent Machine quality staff shares a passion for getting you accurate results every time.

The Calibration side of our scope covers some of the most common gages and unique gages for specific industries.  We offer the calibration of the hexlobe drive profile used in many orthopedic fasteners.  We also offer calibration of the large fixture type gages commonly used in the automotive industry.  Our Calibration scope also includes pin or plug gages and ring gages.  Check our scope often; we are always looking for additional services that will meet the calibration needs of our customers.
